Petition statement

We the people of the United Kingdom are both disgusted and confused as to how a person with no previous convictions can be sentenced to 5 months in prison for receiving an item of clothing whilst being oblivious to it being stolen.

Especially when there are numerous individuals with previous convictions receiving small community service sentences for actually looting items themselves.

We the people of the United Kingdom believe that there should be SET sentences for a crime whereupon a person receives a set sentence/punishment for a criminal offence and not to be dependant on which magistrate or judge is on that day or how much money they have to pay for a solicitor with more influence than a legal aid solicitor.

Please free Ursula Nevin IMMEDIATELY as we believe this kind of absurd judicial madness is one of the very reasons the country is in such a bad state and why people are violently protesting on our streets.

Please free up that prison space for someone deserved of incarceration and actually a THREAT to our society. Oblivious or not. 5 months in prison is not a proportional punishment for stealing an item of clothing let alone only receiving that said item .!!!
